🪪 Users verification that works:
a fully immersive KYC flow
Rethinking identity verification through frictionless, focused UX inspired by Typeform.com
KYC (Know Your Customer) flows are often perceived as one of the most tedious parts of onboarding: a string of long forms, static inputs, and unclear steps. The goal of this project was to redesign that experience from the ground up, building a mobile-first KYC journey that felt engaging, progressive, and 'fun' to complete.
Features of an Immersive, flexible UX
The idea was a fully interactive identification flow, inspired by the smooth pacing and focused interaction model of Typeform.com. Rather than overwhelming the user with long lists of fields, the interface presents one question or input at a time, allowing the user to stay focused and make progress naturally.
The experience was designed to be both structured and user-controlled. Users can move forward or backward freely, preview upcoming steps, or pause the session and return later without losing progress. This flexibility allows to complete the identity verification on users own terms, particularly important in mobile contexts.
Real-time feedback and constant input validation
Every interaction is paired with real-time feedback and validation. Inputs are validated instantly, with inline confirmations, visual checkmarks, or helpful warnings, depending on the field type.
In-app document capture and instant feedback
Users can capture a photo of their ID directly within the app, after taking the picture, they are shown a real-time preview, with the option to retake if the result is unclear.
Once submitted, the system performs an instant verification check, providing immediate status updates, whether the document is accepted, needs retaking, or is pending further review. This flow helps reduce failed submissions and keeps the user informed at every step.
This KYC flow borrows the interaction principles of conversational form builders and applies them to a regulated, compliance-heavy environment: turning something usually bureaucratic into something much more usable. Instead of seeing identity verification as a one-way form submission, this approach treats it as a lightweight, guided conversation one step at a time, fully validated, and easy to complete on any screen.
